All about Dragon Class
We are a Year One and Year Two mixed class. There are currently 30 children in our class. We enjoy access to a large outside area which helps us enjoy our learning even more as we have a large 100 square, a chalk board and a washing line to hang up our work. When the weather is nice, we like to learn outside on the big pull out tables.
We are following the New National Curriculum which means that have to work hard on learning some tricky spelling rules and our number bonds to 100 and 2, 5, and 10 times tables . We enjoy challenging ourselves with our learning and like to choose the level of work in each lesson so that we are always trying our best.
SPRING TERM LEARNING
This term, in Geography, we are enjoying learning all about maps and directions. We have drawn maps of our village and have had great fun finding places using maps, atlases and globes. We are hoping to go on a walk around the village when the weather improves.
In Art and Design we have been looking at the work of L.S.Lowry. We have compared some of his most famous works and we can talk about the colours and techniques he used. At present we are working on our own ‘Lowry City Collages’ which will be on display very soon.
In Science we have been finding out about materials. We have been looking at lots of materials and next half term we will be doing investigations into which materials are suitable for different purposes.

The Children have been collecting lots of items in special ‘Smileboxes’ for our dear friend George Mills to take to needy children in The Ukraine.
In the first half term the children in Key Stage Two have enjoyed reading the first story in the series, How to Train Your Dragon.
