Village People-Pegasus Class out and about

As part of their study of the history of Great Bardfield, Pegasus class have been out and about in Great Bardfield, finding out about the architecture, who lived where in the village in the past and the famous landmarks.

The Bawden Rooms

Huge thanks to Claire Willets for opening the Bawden Rooms in the village so that our Leprechaun and Phoenix Class pupils could deepen their historical knowledge of the village of Great Bardfield. They really enjoyed learning more about the Bardfield Artists.

The Quaker Meeting House

As part of our study of the history of Great Bardfield our Year 5 and 6 Phoenix Class pupils visited the Quaker Meeting House in the village.

Little Readers-Reception

Our Reception Unicorns, absolutely relished the opportunity to read with our very patient and kind Phoenix class friends. The children gain so much from reading to each other.

Little Readers-Year One

At Great Bardfield Primary School we know how important Reading is to developing little minds and to building skills and knowledge for our older children. Our Year 5 and 6 children loved reading with our Year 1 Pixies this week.

SCOOTABILITY

Our children love to be outside in the beautiful environment at Great Bardfield Primary School. We offer Bikebility to our Year 6 pupils in the autumn term and to encourage our younger children to scoot to school, we offered Scootability so that they could learn to ride their scooters safely.

Christmas 2022

It has been such a difficult year with the effects of Covid on everyone. This Christmas, more than ever, it felt very important to get back to our traditions. Remembrance Day

Every year on the Friday preceding Remembrance Sunday our Year 6 pupils visit the war memorial in the village to lay a wreath on behalf of our school community. The wreath is laid by our Head Boy and Girl each year and this time it was the turn of Luca and Eloise.

Harvest Festival

Just before October half term every year, the whole school comes together to celebrate Harvest. This is such an important time of year for our country village. We also reflected and improved our understanding of  Harvest Time around the world.
