All About Phoenix Class
We are a mixed class of Year 5 and 6 children. We enjoy being taught in the oldest part of the school. Our classroom is 150 Years old and we are looking forward to learning about life as a Victorian schoolchild later in the year when we study this subject in History. We are currently learning about the Tudors and we are finding out about how they had a large influence on our village and the local area. We are also finding out about The Spanish Armada.
We are the oldest children in the school and as such set a shining example to the rest of the school in everything that we do. We understand the importance of modelling Our Five Key Skills to the younger children in our Learning Behaviours and in the way we behave towards each other. We show RESPECT in particular to each other, To our environment and to ourselves. We show RESILIENCE when sometimes our learning is challenging. We rise to this challenge and try our best.
Autumn Term Curriculum
We used different poetic devices such as metaphors and similes to create imagery in our Autumn Poems. We also used expressive language and adjectival phrases to create a vision for the reader.

It was an absolute pleasure to take our Year 4, 5 and 6 children into London, to The National Gallery. The children were so engaged and enthusiastic about the paintings they saw and the experience of being in Trafalgar Square.
Friday 5th April 2019 – During our Assembly this morning we were visited by the Easter Bunny. The children were very excited when he appeared at the hall window and enthusiastically joined him for an Easter Egg Hunt in the school grounds.
