All About Ravilious Class

Welcome to Ravilious Class. Our class is named after Eric Ravilious, one of the famous Bardfield artists and lived in Brick house during the 1930s. He created beautiful watercolours and was an official War Artist during World War 2. Some of his work is on display at the Fry Art Gallery in Saffron Walden and other pieces are at the Imperial War Museum. Ravilious was married to Tirzah Garwood, and with her permission, went on what would be his final mission as a War artist to Iceland where he was unfortunately lost at sea.

Ravilious class is a lovely purple Victorian Classroom with a lot of potential. We really enjoy books and you will find a large collection around the room. As we are the Year 6 class, we do spend a lot of time consolidating our KS2 learning and we have to work incredibly hard to become as independent as possible. We take on more responsibility around the school by supporting in the Dinner Hall and in Garwood class. Ravilious Class really enjoy art and have created beautiful watercolours in the style of Eric Ravilious and Tudor style portraits that are on display in our classroom.
