Easter Fun

Circus Fun – October 2018
What an amazing week we have had with the circus. All of the children had a chance to visit this week and learn some circus skills. KS1 and Year 3 will be using the experience to inspire their writing. Assembly in the Big Top today was also a highlight.
Year 4,5 and 6 Trip to Duxford
On Thursday 4th October Years 4,5 and 6 visited Duxford Imperial War Museum to support their learning about World War II.
Pegasus and Phoenix Class visit The Tower of London
On the 28th March Pegasus (Year 3/4) and Phoenix Class (Year 5/6) had an amazing day out at The Tower of London.
Unicorns, Pixies and Dragons visit Hatfield Forest
On the 22nd March Unicorns, Pixies and Dragons all went on a visit to Hatfield Forest. They were looking for mini beasts and at the different habitats of the animals who lived there.
ZERO Day
As part of our work in Maths we looked at the value of Zero through the use of story. We read the book Zero by Kathryn Otoshi about the importance of Zero and how he comes to find his importance with the other numbers.
Remembrance Day
This year we focused on the importance of poppies as a symbol of remembrance. We marked Remembrance Day with an special assembly and Year 5 and 6 visited the memorial in the village.
Smile Box Assembly 2017
This year we collected 121 Smile Boxes. Well done to everyone! These will go to needy families in The Ukraine. We were delighted to be joined once again by George Mills who does so much good work for this cause.

Roald Dahl Dressing up Day
We had a host of Roald Dahl Characters when we had a dressing up day to celebrate the famous author’s 100th birthday. Lots of fun had by everyone!
Football Tournament for Key Stage Two Girls
Our Year 3,4,5 and 6 girls were recently invited to attend a Football Tournament as part of our Dunmow Cluster Group. The girls all had lots of fun and learnt some new skills.
Macmillan Coffee Morning

Year 3 and 4 Inter-school Sports Event
Children from Griffin and Pegasus went to HRS to take part in The Dunmow Cluster Group inter-school sports event. The children had fun taking part in different athletics circuits which allowed them to learn new skills.
